Michelle's run 1.31.13

Time: 20 min run (all running)

It felt good to run.  It was sunny, yet cool, my favorite running weather.  Wore the BeBand which helped a lot.  Also I've found that music is essential for pregnant running.  It keeps me from focusing on the little aches and pains.  One more week to my goal!

I might be the worst Mom ever today, but Sam is a little better today and I just could not wait any longer. Plus fresh air is good for you, right? We went on a 12ish minute / 1 mile run. He did great. I made sure to dress him extra warm: onesie, socks, fleece footed pjs, gloves, hat and blanket. He probably would have started sweating if it had been much longer. Love the stroller, but it is going to take some getting used to running with a stroller. Pictures...

Michelle's workout 1.29.13

20 minutes of a cardio workout

While I was waiting for dinner to cook and Michael to get home from his class, I did a quick 20 minute cardio workout with the OnDemand.  It was actually a pretty good one for pregnancy.  No up and down, no ab work.  Just moving around and getting the heart rate up.

I think I'm starting to get the third trimester exhaustion, or maybe it was just a long day.  Next week is ridiculously busy (parent-teacher conferences, meetings, etc) ... I may not make it!

We are still struggling with RSV, head colds and ear infections for all 4 at the Burton Home. Prayers that the flu doesn't get us too!! On a happy note and it truly brighten my mood this week, I purchased a used jogging stroller. Thanks to Michelle's research and sharing her knowledge I knew what type strollers to be pricing and keep an eye on. (BOB or Schwinn Turismo) Craigslsist Find: BOB Sport Utility with Weather Shield for $75!! I think it is the 2011 model. Owner said, "I bought it off of a friend over a year ago and have never used it, just trying to free up some space in my garage". The tire tread looks brand new; I truly don't know it is has ever been used. However, all three tires were flat. Made a call to bike shop, said new inner tire tubes are $6 a piece with small fee for labor, we have them in stock, bringing in and we will fix you up. I was think extra $30 still a great deal. Get to bike shop, the pull out all the inner tubes, no problems, air up, place back on tire / wheel and no charge "air is free"!! Now, if I can just get the rain and sickness to go away.

Mysti 1-27-2013

No workouts for me this week. Sam started getting sick last weekend and ended up having RSV and double ear infection. He is better now after taking amoxicillin and breathing treatments. Now....I have head cold, left ear infection and I'm sure RSV;however, didn't have them do a test as it is viral and not much you can do. John is out picking up my z-pak and sudafed right now. I'm very thankful for the Lord's protection as RSV can be much worse in babies and thankful for good health insurance - though I feel yucky now he always takes care of us!!

Michelle's workout 1.25.13

30 minutes of Prenatal Yoga

Where has the week gone???  I didn't get any workouts in this week.  I feel like I was busy most days and didn't really procrastinate a workout per say.  School was cancelled today because of the threat of ice.  While we didn't get a much, it was cold and rainy most of the day.  I had big plans to do a cardio video and yoga, but then I accidentally took a 3 hour nap.  So, I ended up just doing the yoga.  It seemed to really help with my back pain.  I need to do it more consistently! 

I'm hoping to get a run in this weekend.  My goal is to now to do one run a week (probably 10-15 minutes).  That means I will probably only have about 3 more runs.  My belly is starting to get BIG!

Mysti's Workout 01-20-2013

25 Minute, 2 Mile, Walk / Run. Another beautiful day. Start on Week 5 Day 1 of Couch to 10k. Excited to keep going!! On a random note, Northwest Arkansas is working on connecting trails from Fayetteville to Bella Vista with the plan showing the trail going in right behind our backyard. I looked at the maps last summer and was so excited, but a little skeptical that is would be finished by Dec 2013 or really be able to acces from our neighborhood. HOWEVER, breaking ground / plowing has started about 10 feet from our back fence!!! Can you tell I'm excited. Place to run, family walks,place for the boys to safely rides bikes, ect.... It also secures that we will not have a house built or a road go in right behind us. I also have this crazy vision of being able to run all the way to Faytteville - which would be around 25 miles on interstate - I can dream right!?

Michelle's run 1.19.13

Time: 10 min run, 7 min walk, 10 min run

The times are approximate because I didn't have a watch or take my ipod with me.  The weather was nice, but not quite 60.  I still wore a short sleeve shirt and shorts.  I was pretty happy when I put my shorts on and they still fit.  However, they did not fit as well once I started running.  But, it worked.

This run was hard.  The first 10 minutes were fine.  However, the 2nd 10 minutes of running were not so fun.  My legs are really feeling the weight.  I also feel the pressure on my bladder and think I am going to pee my pants.  Ha! 

So, we will see how many of these I have left.  I'm thinking only a few.

Mysti's Workout 1-19-2013 (Finally)

25 minute, 2 mile, Run/Walk. I was very excited to get outside today. Hope this 60 degree weather heads Michelle's way. I was in shorts and a tshirt! My back is about 95% better and didn't bother me during the run. I stretched for a long time which in general helps my lower back, hip and legs - seems to all be connected to my back issues.

Michelle's workout 1.17.13

So, I decided that I needed to do SOMETHING.  It continues to rain here.  We actually had a late start yesterday (I spent the extra time in my bed) and then we got out about 1 1/2 hours early today.  It was supposed to snow, although I haven't seen of it at my house.  Since going outside hasn't really been an option, I decided to take advantage of the On Demand.  Not working out really lowers my energy level.  I was hoping the yoga would help stretch my back.  My lower back has really started to feel tight.  Laying on my back is pretty painful, as is standing up sometimes.  Hopefully it gets better soon.  The sun is supposed to come out tomorrow and stay for a few days, so I am hoping I can get outside this weekend.

Mysti :(

Ah, it has been about 3 weeks of back problems, chiropratic appointments and massage sessions. It had finally fully felt better last Thursday and then I traveled again over the weekend which set me back. A 20lb baby doesn't help either. My hope is to run this weekend!!

Taking a week off was not a good idea.  My legs were killing me.  I'm hoping if I run again in a couple of days I will feel better.  The weather was nice and it was nice to get in a run before church.

Michelle's Run 1.6.13

Time: 30 minute run

I was able to go for a 30 minute run this evening just before the sun set.  It was a good run.  My legs are starting to really feel the extra weight, but once they get going they get used to it.  I'm still so surprised that I can run for 30 minutes without getting short of breath, but sometime walking up a flight of stairs leaves me gasping.  ha!

Back to work tomorrow.  Ugh.

Murray and I went for a walk around the neighborhood yesterday.  I didn't really feel like running, but it was nice to get out and walk a bit.  I'm going to try to run tomorrow.  Today I haven't even gotten out of my pjs.  Really soaking in the last of my Christmas break I guess.  (There's only one day left and I am SO sad.)

Michelle's workout 1.2.13

Prenatal Yoga: 30 minutes

Will I ever see the sun again?  I'm starting to wonder if I moved to the Northwest.  It has been cloudy/rainy for so long!  It just doesn't make me want to go outside, especially for a run (plus, it was in the 30's today).  But, I decided I needed to do something so I did about 30 minutes of prenatal yoga.  It's not the most exciting, but the stretching feels good and it gets some blood flowing.  It's looking like this weekend and the beginning of next week will be a little nicer for running, we will see!

Mysti - Not Giving Up

It has been a week since I was able to run, but I'm not giving up!! I fully planned,on running the day after Christmas; however, I was at my parents and it snowed about 3-5 inches. Too much to run in, especially with dirt roads and needing to see the potholes. No worries I thought, I will run tomorrow when it melts off. Again, I didn't think about the dirt roads - now a muddy mess. Oh well, it's Christmas and I will be able to run Sat and Sun at home. Just kidding - My back went out :( I'm still not getting around very well. New hope is to be able to run this weekend.
