Michelle's workout 1.30.14

Jilian Michael's Ripped in 30- Week 1

Did another ripped in 30 on my 2nd snow day.  Heath was awake, and started to get a little fussy, so I had to sing some kid songs to distract/entertain him.

Day 3 of the food change went well.  I felt terrible when I woke up (I think it was low blood sugar), but this morning I felt better.

Mysti's Workout - January 29, 2014

Distance: ?
Time: 30 minutes

I ran for 30 minutes around an indoor track. Who wants to count how many times you run in a circle - not me. The 10 degree weather is greeting to me and I have no motivation to run outside.

Joining the Rogers Activity Center was my solution to 2 challenges: 1) the freezing temps this winter 2) Samuel's separation anxiety.
Mon-Fri 8-11, I can drop Samuel off for up to 1.5 hours while I work out. Options - indoor track, 4 treadmills, 4 elliptical, 3 bikes and about 15 various strength machines. It's small but nice and at $80 per year for family of 6 with free childcare = great deal. There are also lots of classes offered for $5 per class or unlimited for 2 months at $45.
I sound like a saleswomen, but it's not in the budget to join World's Gym.

Michelle's workout 1.29.14

Jilian Michael's Ripped in 30: Week 1 video

Did a Jilian Michael's video since we were snowed in today.  I actually did the workout while Heath was awake.  He mostly just stared at me.  He was a little fussy at times, but I got through the whole thing without a meltdown.

In other health related news: I am on day 2 of no processed food.  So far I have also managed to do it Paleo.  I'm going to try to stick with the Whole 30 model.  So beyond no processed, I am also doing no dairy, no grains, no legumes (beans), no sugar of any kind (not even syrup or honey).  It's only been tough in between meals when I want a quick snack.  It would be so easy to grab some crackers, bread, etc.  But I've managed.  I think the key is going to be getting used to eating more at meals (especially to offset the carbs I am used to filling up on).

Yesterday I was giving Heath a snack and there was a little shortbread cookie in the mix.  I didn't want him to have that, so I put it in my mouth... as soon I stuck it in I remembered I wasn't supposed to eat it...so I had to spit it out!  Ha!

Michelle's run 1.26.14

14 minute run ans 7 minute walk.

Went on a run by myself. The weather was actually decent. I ran up the hills, but felt awful after 14 minutes. I was disappointed at first, but realized it's better than nothing and the next run will be better.  It's going to be cold the rest of the week, so I'm not sure how much I'll run.

Mysti's Workout - January 25, 2014

Distance: 7 miles
Time: 115:50 minutes
Pace: 10:50 minute

I did not run yesterday as planned due to weather. 8 degrees outside with 7mph wind.
Today was a heat wave of 35 degrees, but crazy cold weather hits again Monday. :(

The sky was really pretty this morning and took a new scenic route which helped my not so ready to run attitude and by the end I could have kept going.

Michelle's run 1.19.14

25 minute run with jogger

We took advantage of the sunny weather. I pushed myself to do an extra 5 minutes. I'm hoping to run tomorrow too since I have the day off.

Oh, here's a pic of my injury from last week.

Mysti's Workout - January 18, 2014

Distance: 6 miles
Time: 101.36 minutes
Pace: 10.16

Very good run: didn't start till 6:45am, heat wave of 35 degrees, new shirt and felt great whole time.
I'm thinking about running the Bentonville Half in April, but not all about huge groups of people.

Mysti's Workout - January 15, 2014

Michelle's run 1.14.13

20 minute run with the jogger.

I tried to talk myself out of this run, but looked at the forecast and saw that this might be the best day to run all week. I'm glad I got out there.  The run was easier then the last toe and Heath only cried the last minute!

Big boy!

Week of January 6-12

2 runs

Jan. 9- 20 minute run with jogger
Jan 12- 20 minute run with jogger

Heath is sitting in his jogger like a big boy now!  The first day he seemed to like it and like how he could see more... but then yesterday he cried for half of the run.  Some of it was because he was tired, but wouldn't go to sleep.  He slept a lot easier in the infant carrier.  We also had a jogger accident.  I stepped on the wrist strap and the jogger stopped, but I was still running..... ouch!!  I have a big bruise on my arm.

Let's hope for good weather and more runs this week.  My life is beyond crazy right now, but I can still fit runs in, I just use it as an excuse.

I have lost all of my baby weight... but my body is just soft, I need to get some muscle tone back!

Mysti's Workouts: January 1st - 13th

New Years Goal = Run 2014 Minutes in 2014

Breakdown of what that will look like -
2014 Minutes
•/•
52 weeks
= 38.7 minutes per week
= 3.7 miles per week

I will just track and be excited when I hit 2014 minutes. Should take too long.

In and of itself I don't think it is a lofty goal, but with the thought, oh my, maybe, possibility of getting prego with baby #2 it should be a good goal to keep me running through year and hopefully pregnancy.

Progress so far in January:
Jan 1st - 4.74 / 52.35
Jan 2nd - 2.16 / 26.10
(More Snow)
Jan 11th - 4.08 / 45.51
Jan 12th - 6 / 102.11
Jan 13th - 3.36 / 35.44

Pictures from Jan 2nd = Crazy

Mysti's December Workouts

Oh my, it's amazing how fast you can lose momentum. When comparing runs in December to November it looks horrible, but I'm still trying to remind myself of all the factors in December: post race, about 12 days of snow and ice, temperatures in the teens, two trips to the farm, Christmas and family visiting.

For all those reasons, I'm trying to be not only ok but happy about my 6 runs in December.

Mysti's First Half Marathon - November 23, 2013

White River Marathon for Kenya

 Distance: 13.1
Time: 2:16.40
Pace: 10.25

Yay, I finished my first half marathon!! My main goal was to finish the race; however, secretly and deep down I wanted to finish in under 2.5 hours.
 Woo Hoo, I did it!!

Now the only question left is... Do I get "13.1" tattooed on my foot?!?
