The Color Run

I just registered for my first race of 2012!

It's called The Color Run. You can check it out here.  My friend Stacee wanted to put a team together.  So, we are going to run 3.1 miles while getting paint thrown on us!  haha.

I hope I look like this at the end.

Michelle's run 1.30.12

I was in Atlanta for the last two night for work.  Yesterday after the conference my friend and I were determined to get a workout in.  So we headed to the hotel workout room.

I ran for 25 minutes and then walked for 10.  I wanted to run for 30, but it was pretty warm and stuffy in the room.  I'm happy that I got a workout in while I was away from home, that never seems to happen.

Workout: 1 Mile Walk

Thanks to John I walked a mile after dinner tonight. It is so dark in our neighborhood; therefore, I will not walk by myself after dark.

Mysti 1-29-2012

Well.....It has been a few months and with a new position at work and being prego my life has taken a crazy turn. I am at 25 weeks and have had a wonderful pregnancy thus far, minus some lower back struggles that made my doctor tell me at 6 weeks to stop running. However, with weekly chiropractic work and massages I've done great.
I am going to just start with what I have been doing: watching what I eat and stretching. I spent about 20 minutes today stretching - really helps my back. At this point, I have gained 5lbs throughout my first 5 months. However, I really need to pick the exercise back up to reach my goal of only gaining 15lbs.
So, I need ideas....

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were really busy.  So today I was able to get a run in before heading down to Atlanta for a work conference.  Hopefully I can run at the hotel tomorrow night too... we will see.

Another beautiful Spring day in late January.  Murray and I ran 30 minutes around the neighborhood.  I'm not expecting to get a chance to run again until Sunday, but we will see!

So, I'm so glad that it didn't snow afterall.  It was pouring down rain this morning and I figured that a run was completely out of the question.  However, the sun started shining this afternoon and it was perfect!  So I drove straight home after work and went for a 30 minute run.  I took Murray with me.  My ipod stopped working about halfway through, but it was fine.

Michelle's workout 1.22

I had good intentions of running, but the weather was blah!  So, today I did an OnDemand workout.  They took Jillian Michaels off and I think I'm just going to have to buy one, because I have not found a good replacement for her yet.  Her videos make you really work and not feel super silly.  All of the other ones have I done make me feel like an idiot.  So, I may be adding it to the grocery list for next week.  (Anyone else put non-food items on their grocery list?)

It's supposed to rain almost everyday this week too... ugh!  I just wish it would just SNOW!

Michelle's workout 1.18

workout: Power Yoga (1 hour and 15 minutes)

So today I took my 2nd yoga class.  I was a little nervous because I had worked all day and was afraid I wouldn't have enough energy to make it through. The yoga class that I go to is called "Power Yoga."  It's heated (95 degrees) and moves pretty quickly.  Let's just say I'm not a natural.  I try to stay with everyone, but a lot of my time is spent staring at other people and trying to do what they do.  I am easily the worst in the class.  I know yoga should not be competitive, but I say challenge accepted!

I'm sure I will get better with time.  As long as I'm enjoying it I'll keep going.  Also, one of my friend goes with me, so it adds some motivation/accountability.

p.s. Mysti there was a girl in my class that was at least 6 months pregnant. (Probably what you will look like at 9 months. :) )

Let's get this started again??

So, Mysti and I haven't been keeping up with the blog.  She has a good reason... (She's expecting her first baby).  I do not.  My new job is demanding and it's been really hard for me to find a work/life balance. (That's the best excuse I have.)

I need to get back to running and have tried several things that have not worked.  I'm thinking maybe blogging about it again will help. 

Since Mysti isn't blogging with me, I'm trying to decide if I should post on this blog again or just post on my other blog....  thoughts?

For today I will post here.  I ran 2.5 miles in 25 minutes this afternoon.  The weather was perfect.  It was upper 40s and sunny.  I loved every minute of the run.
