Mysti's Workout - February 26, 2014

Randomness: Run about 10 minutes and intervals with Dana for about 25 minutes on track and then 5 minute run on treadmill. (Yay, Dana's trying to start running)

My left knee started hurting on Monday morning. Trying to slow down and not push it, but work thought it at same time. (Read somewhere at sometime that you wanted to back off training but not stop)

Continuing my randomness...Trying to eat better?!?
I can stick with a running schedule, but I never seem to stick with eating well past about the 3 week mark. So maybe if I add it to our blogging, I will do better. 

Ideas...
* Salads for lunch at least 4 times per week
* Veggie added to each dinner and watch portions
* Limit unhealthy snacking 
* Sweets are my weakness. Get mini or fun size candy bars and limit to one after lunch and dinner. (Compared to: I ate 4 Dunkin Donuts last week in a 24 hour period)

15 minute run with jogger

Took a half day because Heath could not go to daycare.  It was nice out, so we went for a little jog.  Even though I dressed him warmly and put up the weathershield, it was still probably not my finest mommy moment.  Once he started crying, I decided to stop just in case he wasn't feeling well.

The 3 day break and Memphis food slowed me down, but it was totally worth it to get to see The Hassler's!!

Mysti's Workout - February 16, 2014

This run hurt starting at mile 7, but it was such a nice day and I didn't get a long run last weekend that I kept pushing.
I think I just got overheated a little. My body didn't know what to do with high 50 degrees.

Mysti's Workout - February 13, 2014

Treadmill: 30 minutes 

I tried to push it today and added incline for total of about 10 minutes via 2 minute increments.  
I need to look up some treadmill tips - so boring.

They didn't call me to get Sam today. He did cry a lot, but was able to be distracted by a couple of books.

Samuel is struggling with separation anxiety in general, and today they had to call me back down to the childcare room. He kept getting upset when others got dropped off / picked up.

Mysti's Workout - Feb 9th

Distance: 4.5 miles

I'm so OVER winter, and find it annoyingly ironic that I picked the coldest winter to keep motivated with running. 

A few things keep me going...fleece lined running pants, the thought of "starting over" in the Spring makes me cringe, doing something for myself outside of husband and kids and I've learned to enjoy the cooler runs - fresh air.

Check out my cute new socks and pants. 33 degrees seemed like enough of a heat wave to wear capri pants vs my lined pants :)
It's barely got over 15 degrees this week.

Michelle's workout (attempt) 2.3.14

So I attempted to workout yesterday.  It was probably nice enough to run, but I got off work late, then Heath was hungry and fell asleep while nursing (his way of tricking me into holding him during his nap).  By the time he was awake it was already 5:15.  I wasn't even dressed, so I figured I would try to get a Jillian Michaels workout in.  

I only make it 10 minutes before Heath was having a full on meltdown.  He was fussy and singing did not work this time.  He also would get mad when I would get on the floor and not play with him.  I tried the week 2 video and it has lot of plank exercises... so I think next time I will not do that video when he's not in a great mood.  

I guess 10 minutes is better than nothing, but it was a stressful 10 minutes...which is not the point of working out in my opinion!

Today's Goal = Finish before it started snowing = Success

Out the door at 6:00am 

 

Should I be really crazy and run tomorrow in the snow!?!

PS. I'm so THANKFUL for Michelle for many reasons. One big reason - calling me almost 5 years ago and asking if I would train with her for a 10k. I told her she was crazy, but agreed to train for 5k and keep each other accountable and motivated.
